The Andhra University has started School of Distance Education in the campus in 1972. It offers courses ranging fro Certificate Courses to Post Graduate and professional courses. The School Distance education presently offering 4 UG programmes, 18 UG programmes, 5 Certificate, 9 Diploma courses, 15 Professional Courses and 7 Collaborative courses thorough Distance Education mode. The School has 35 study centers across the state. The enrollment in UG and PG professional programmes in the School of Distance education is about 80000 students. The school has 23 permanent faculty, it is equipped with the latest infrastructure.

Dr.B.R.AMBEDKAR OPEN UNIVERSITY

The University, initially known as Andhra Pradesh Open University, was set up on 26th August 1982 through as Act of A.P.State Legislature (APOU Act 1982). subsequently the University was renamed as Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Open University on 26 October, 1991 by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. The establishment of this University, the first of its kind in India, heralded an era of affirmative section on the part of the Government of Andhra Pradesh to provide opportunities of higher education to all sections of society to meet the changing individual and social needs. All the programmes offered by the University are recognized by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi. The motto of the University is “EDUCATION FOR ALL”
