The college has very effective mechanism to monitor effective use of UGC grants. The college has been Utilizing UGC grants for development of the college judiciously, transparently and for the purpose for which it were sanctioned duly following the norms of Government, UGC and University.
Three national level seminars and one international seminar have been organized during the year 2018-19 by utilizing UGC grants. One of the faculty member of our college was sanctioned one UGC Major Research Project and it is in progress.
The college has provided with well speed Internet / wifi facility, computer laboratories with latest configured systems. All most all science laboratories in the college have been upgraded by acquiring latest equipment which are required for hands on work in fulfillment of the curriculum. The grant received by the college every year under the scheme “Financial Assistance to Autonomous Colleges” was also utilized very transparently for the purpose for which it was released. The infrastructural facilities in the department of Physical Education are also upgraded to the present needs by acquiring required sports & games equipment, duly utilizing UGC grants.
We are also utilized UGC funds to purchase computer systems, latest academic books, research books, competitive books and G.K.books to keep in the college library. The college has also developed digital class rooms, Virtual classrooms, seminar halls etc., with all facilities for our students.
The University Grants Commission conferred the status of “College with Potential for Excellence” in the year 2016. The College has utilized the CPE grants judiciously under specified heads as directed by the UGC. The College has also received XII plan grants under different schemes and utilized the same within the stipulated time and utilization certificates are also submitted to the UGC.
Sri M.Lakshmi Narayana Raju, Head of the Dept., of Economics has been looking after the UGC activities of the college as the Coordinator, D.N.R.College UGC affairs.
